It was another Saturday morning when my friends decided to cancel on me abruptly while I was all set to go. I was so used to it already that I wasn't even bummed anymore. I just grabbed my bag and went out anyway, determined to enjoy a nice Saturday afternoon alone.
Now, what would a nice Saturday afternoon out be without a nice lunch? So I decided to have lunch at this restaurant I'd been wanting to try out for quite sometimes : Boka Buka Kitchen and Bar at Street Gallery PIM.
The place has vintage-country-style interior that gives this cozy and homey feeling. I loved it.
And as for my orders, here they are:
Boka Buka Salad - IDR 55,000, -
( Fresh lettuce, spring onion, half cut grapes, smoked beef, potato, sliced apples poured with honey and vinegar dressing)
My body was in dire need for something green & healthy, so for once I repressed my carnivorous desire to have meats and went for the veggies instead (granted there were slices of smoked beef in it, but still it was mainly veggies). The salad was nice and fresh, but nothing special. Also, I noticed that while according to the description in the menu, it was supposed to have "half cut grapes", the one that was served to me actually had "half cut cherry tomatoes" in it instead. But okay, I can live with cherry tomatoes. The salad also came with complimentary bread and butter which was enough to fill my tummy.
Crepes Comedie - IDR 55,000,-
( Flambe crepe with orange sauce and cointreau (orange liqueur) served with vanilla ice cream )
Because I'd been a good girl and ate all my veggies, I thought I deserved to be rewarded with a nice dessert. And this crepes turned out to be an excellent reward. Loved the combination of the orange - chocolate flavors. I gulped it down in no time!
For the drink, not wanting to spend too much, I chose Iced Peach Tea (IDR 20,000,-)
After finishing all my food (and paid the bill, of course), I left the place quite satisfied. Overall it was a nice lunch for one on a nice Saturday afternoon.
